Home Safety Assesments

Our thorough Home Safety Evaluation is designed just for you, taking into account your unique needs. We look at both your home and how you move around in it. You'll get a detailed report explaining our suggestions and why they're important. You will be able to take this report to your contractor for any needed changes. If you prefer, we can also handle most home modifications for you, making it even more convenient.

Your Assessment will include items such as:

  • Add non slip shower mat (high safety risk)

  • Replace towel bar with dual grab bar towel bar (medium safety risk)

  • Remove throw rugs (high safety risk)

  • Add additional lighting in bedroom (low safety risk, better accessibility)

  • Replace door knobs with levers (low safety risk, better accessibility)

  • Add easy access smart light switch by favorite armchair (accessibility, comfort)

  • Add door chimes to exterior doors to notify caretakers of an exit (medium safety risk)

This is a very small example list of our exhaustive interior and exterior assessment which we tailor to every person.

To find more information on things you may be able to do yourself you can visit the AARP website checklist here:

While 90% of adults over 65 want to stay at home as long as possible (AARP research report), many adults may wonder if staying home is worth the safety risks. The average hip replacement costs $40,000, and 50% of older adults who experience a fall never fully recover. However, home modifications are the easiest way to way to reduce the likeliness of falls — up to 50% according to the CDC. Including an exercise program can not only greatly reduce the likeness of falls, but also the likelihood of fall related injuries.
